Don’t judge me!

TBR: 32

I don’t know why you’re acting so surprised.  I already told you that I haven’t been reading.  I’ve been playing games and watching TV and, surprisingly, sleeping a lot.  I’ve also gone to RenFest and tried kayaking for the first time and had a great anniversary dinner.  Sometimes, life happens.

So, why didn’t I write this yesterday?  Well, it was a holiday and MY ANNIVERSARY and Hubby had a really bad migraine and spent the afternoon in bed while I spent it with some gin and Stephen King.  It was a nice afternoon and it felt good to sit outside in the oppressive heat on a blanket under my trees, just like I wanted to do all summer.  Then I got a little tipsy and I wandered off to do something else.

I’d be lying if I said that I felt bad about not reading as much as usual.  Really, it feels kind of good to mix things up.  When I do read, I really enjoy it and feel good.  But right now I am being nice to myself and I am letting myself do whatever feels right for the time being.  Life is hard and my summer kind of sucked.  I deserve a break.  In the meantime, those sneaky bastards keep sneaking into my house somehow…

This week I will finish a book.
